Sorry for taking so long to get another post up. It has been a very busy four weeks. I am hear alone (well it feels that way). David and Diane my house mates are not here. Dorris (US missionary) is back in the US until the end of Aug. So it is just me and another missionary. This also means more work to cover them all and there responsibilities. Lord willing David and Diane will be back next week so that will help.
Last week I came down with a chest and head cold. As it is referred to here I have the "common cold". I had next to no voice so that was fun to see the kids react to. Tried to relax over the weekend. Then decided to see a doctor this morning. My chest is really congested which makes is hard. So he gave me two injections of antibiotics plus antibiotics and cough syrup to take. I think I will be covered and back to normal soon. Which I look forward to. Being sick alone...not so fun.
The library continues to go well. A few more Class 8 girls have wanted to learn chess so that has been fun to see and teach. Though stretches my brain. I am not great at the game but at least I can teach it. The kids continue to be very happy and excited to be in the library. Some days too excited but it is good to see there desire to be there.
We have always tried to get the teachers to use the library with the kids. It has been a struggle but they finally have been trying. The kids in there English class often write compensation papers. From what I have seen they all right the same story. So in order to help with there English and see other story's during there class they are using the library to be reading story's. It is a start and hopefully the teachers will use it more.
These two boys are new to PACE. There older brother graduated last year. He has basically raised the kids. They are orphans. They have not gotten the best schooling to date. They are behind and English is slow but they can put puzzles together. What normally takes kids that we have months to accomplish these boys do in no time. It is quite amazing to see.
