What can I say more then kids are filled with joy. I love being in Kenya but the kids is were the real joy comes for me. Just being around them and enjoying there company is more then enough to make one smile. It is a daily reminder of why I am here and what my calling is. Still working at getting to know the newer kids. They still look at me like a new person and wonder. So trying to engage with them as much as possible. I have found two new friends. One is the daughter to the new librarian. Here name is Angel. She is two years old. The other is Gifted. She is 4 years old. She is a sister to one of the high school teachers. They are from Nigeria. There mom just passed away so Gifted has come to live with her brother at the school. She has attached to me and it has been my gift. She is filled with smiles most of the time. They both are at the PACE nursery school during the day.
The kids will break for the month of April starting next weekend. They will have the whole month off. We will do some library work for the first two week and then see how things go for the last two weeks. I hope to do some visiting then as well. It seems a little odd to have only been here a few weeks and the kids are already going on break.
I continue to be in the library as much as possible. I miss not being there all the time or organizing it. Diane has asked me to take care of next week so I am looking forward to doing that.
Everyday life remains the same. We are still waiting for the rains to come and it continues to be warm. I am taking in every moment as I can. The last few nights it has looked like rain but still nothing. But it does need to come.
We have also had teams here from the US since I have arrived. So it has been busy in that way as well. Some have joined us in the library which is always a blessing for the kids.
