Today we decided to make some chilly so that when we came home from school we would have a nice hot meal. It was wonderful so thought I would share.

Thorn in my side
Some time in your life you might have used this statement. This statement came to mind this week. In Kenya we have thorn bushes. These bushes are all around. They can seem to come out of no ware when you may be out for walk and they are very long thorns. Well we used to have one in our back yard. I was out burning garbage (yes that is how we get ride of it) I stepped on one of these thorns. It went right through my shoe and into my foot. I pulled it out right away. It was sore for the rest of the day but then has been better. This is a picture of the thorn so you can see how big it was.

I Have Arrived
Sorry so late in posting. My travel went well. Had a few delays but all ended well. I arrived in Nairobi Friday. I spent the night there and then traveled home Sat. morning. I took a quick trip over to the school to see the kids. It was so good to see them. In true fashion the internet was not working and has not been working very well for my first week.
So what has happened in the last week.
I was in the library starting on Monday. It was like walking back into a place I had never left. The kids have all increased in age and class. Some are bigger but all the same. Personalities are the same. It all brings a smile to my face.
Also this week have enjoyed a bike ride from town. Eating the best bananas ever. Drinking Coke from a bottle.
Have also had one day with no power. Have woke up to temperatures so low I could see my breath and with in two hours it is at least 25 degrees out. I smile and say I am home.
Have been busy since coming but it has been good and soon will be back into the routine.

Time to Head back Home
Well the time has come again to head back to Kenya. My six months in Canada have been great and filled with many blessings. I am grateful for the support I have received. I do look forward to heading back to my other home. I really look forward to having the packing done and walking out of the Nairobi airport and taking a deep breath of Kenyan air.
I will do my best again to keep this blog updated as the internet and power allows me. 😊
Thursday evening I will leave from Toronto and will look forward to letting you know how it all went.
